Manufacturer Description

A resurrected UNICRON has taken over the now-lifeless body of MEGATRON to seek vengeance on the AUTOBOTS and ultimately, the destruction of Cybertron. This formidable enemy forces an unlikely alliance between the AUTOBOTS, DECEPTICONS, PREDAKING and two new Predacons, who come together in an epic battle to help protect their newly restored planet!

The animated Transformers Prime series reaches its conclusion with this fast-paced and frequently exciting feature-length adventure. Picking up directly after the last episode of Transformers Prime's third season, Predacons Rising finds the Autobots in rebuild mode on Cybertron and Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) in search of the AllSpark in order to complete its revitalization. Opposition arises in the form of the recently deceased Megatron, who has been inhabited by Unicron for the purposes of destroying Cybertron with the aid of cloned Predacons constructed by veteran Decepticon heels Starscream and Shockwave. Unicron's world-wrecking plans force an unlikely alliance between the Autobots, Decepticons, and the impressive Predacon ruler Predaking, resulting in an epic battle. Clocking in at 66 minutes, Predacons Rising wastes little time in getting to its final face-off against Unicron, which ends on a satisfying note for all of the major players--as well as the potential for a new series. Transformers Prime fans will appreciate the proliferation of robots and mechanical mayhem on display in Predacons Rising; those not familiar with its source series or later incarnations of the Transformers may find the goings-on a bit dense in its complicated mythology to truly appreciate it. The DVD and Blu-ray includes a single extra, a making-of featurette that looks at the collaboration between Hasbro and Japan's Polygon Pictures animation studio. --Paul Gaita
